A work in progress

Hi Everyone, for years now since the StarGate Movie and series (Yes I have watched all of them more than once) came out I have wanted to try and write my own sci-fi story but have been a bit hesitant.
 I am not sure that it would end up any good or would be read by others. So I have decided to let go and try it in my Blog.
Probably a big mistake. lol I hope not. So stay tuned for the first bit and tell me what you think( What have I got to lose).
It is going to be based on (hypothetically) Stonehenge, Five different worlds and of course our own. If you look at the picture of Stonehenge you see five sections in the center that resemble door ways. Door ways to what or from what. I hope you stay tuned. But if not at least I will have written the story.

Sure way to make money.

As I was leaving work yesterday, a man was sitting at the lights with a sign that said need money for food. Now before you feel to sorry for him.  I did the first time,  Let me explain. He looked well feed, well dressed, and even had his dogs, yes dogs with him. The first few times I saw him he was by himself  and did not look so well feed and dressed, his posse was not with him. I was amazed, he went from poorly dressed to looking good. His (big) dogs looked well taken care of.  He even had a lawn chair set up by where he tied his dogs to the lamp post.  As the light turned red he would approach the cars holding up his sign. Many people felt sorry for or didn't want any trouble and handed him loose change from their coffee fund.
Now don't get me wrong, I know there is a lot of people out there without jobs, when he finished his tour up and down the lane of cars he went back to his chair and dogs, That's when it got interesting, a couple in the car ahead of me noticed this and were pointing to him and his dogs, they were very unhappy indeed an proceeded to curse him out(big time). How dare you ask for money for food, how do your dogs eat if you have no food. So on and so on with very foul language until the light changed.  They had no choice but to move forward still cursing and yelling till they were out of sight.
Now I am sure at first this guy needed money(at least I hope he did) but when he found out how much money he could rake in that's when I think he made it become his full time job.
There are a lot of people who could use our help and are sincere in their need for it. It just kinda puts a damper on it when you feel like you just got hosed.

To nice out to work

Just sitting around on fathers day getting ready for work and was thinking, I would rather be cutting the grass than going to work, but gotta pay the bills.
Oh well, off tomorrow and Tuesday can do the grass then. Yippee!!!
Summer will soon be over and only 6 months left till Christmas. How is that for a wake me up. LOL.
Hockey is over and I cant wait for it to start up again, sorry ladies!!! Not much of a baseball fan or football for that matter, give me hockey any day.
The deer are walking passed the house in the back yard, the chipmunks are singing, just kidding, they are eating peanuts in the back yard. I hope they are not allergic, lol don't know if I can get peanut free peanuts. The birds are singing though!!!! The sun is shinning and its going to be beautiful day.
I told you it was to nice out to work.

Stop the crying

I'm thrilled that the government is sending the postal workers back to work, They never get paid enough, blah, blah, blah. http://www.cbc.ca/  average starting wage 24.00 hr May 30th report.
Then the garbage collectors average starting wage 25.00hr http://www.thestar.com/
A token collector for TTC makes 26.58 hr and up!!!!! Sounds like my kinda job.
None of these positions require 2years college training and license.
Maybe you should try and be an RPN or LPN whose starting wage is less than 24.00 dollars hour and not much higher for a seasoned veteran RPN.  Not to mention the 2 years of college and soon to be, liability coverage that every nurse will soon be required to carry.  All of which is needed just to begin their profession. When they get a job they start as casual and work their way up from there. They have to to work all holidays, no such thing as a long weekend, and after many years they might get the odd Christmas off to spend with their children.
They are held responsible for every thing they do, each and every shift is documented, and if you make a mistake, (God forbid) you could lose your license to practice.

Then what, wait I know, you could collect garbage, deliver the mail or work for TTC and make more money than you do now with less the stress.

Keep up the good work RPN's and LPN's maybe one day you will be paid what your worth, but in the mean time if a TTC or garbage collector and yes even a postal worker needs you, we know you will be at your post come rain or shine.

Sore Losers

What a great day for Canada!!!

Vancouverites sure showed the world what great people we are when it comes to losing. Those few who participated in the riots in the streets and set cars on fire, vandalized  private property..... www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british.../bc-stanley-cup-fans-post-game-7.html?...
You sure showed them, the people of Vancouver are are the losers not the Canucks, your team must and should be ashamed to call you fans. I truly hope that your team never has the chance to host another Stanley Cup Final, Not to mention the Olympics.
I am sure that most people from this Great city are ashamed of the few who disgraced it last night but had they won the cup I am sure that same group of thugs and Hooligans would have acted the same.
I hope that the Police view the tapes of the news media,  identify who they can, and charge these people for their actions and make them pay financially. Publish their faces in the paper and on the Internet and ban them from ever coming to another sporting event.

Canucks are NOT Canada's team

WOW I can't believe how many are hoping the canucks win the Stanley Cup.

I wish to see the cup back in Canada too, but only if Canada's true team are the ones to do it.
Yes, I mean the Toronto Maple Leafs  .
It does not matter what Canadian team you watch or cheer for, ( As Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory would say, not a snowballs chance in cat scanner) The Leafs are a draw in any city that they play in.  This can not be said of any other team in the league. Including most if not all teams in the States.
 Take a trip down the QEW to Buffalo N.Y. when the Leafs are playing or to Ottawa and the split is 50/50 if not more for the visiting team.
If the Canucks win it will be great for the city of Vancouver but don't get any Idea's that the rest of Canada is cheering along side you. Go Boston Go!!!!!
When the Leafs win the cup and it won't be long now, we all can cheer as the Leafs are truley

Hydro costs

Just finished sitting through 72 hours of no hydro and can't wait to see if my new bill shows a decrease in delivery fee. Not a chance. I have heard horror stories of cottagers who have shut the hydro off for the winter but were still charged delivery fees and debt reduction fees. I wonder how long this will go on before we revolt over these outrages charges.
We as Canadians are to polite, we  bend over and just take what were given by the powers that be, We need take a lesson from over seas and start demanding action. But we Canadians are to passive and will continue to pay whatever they ask.
The CEO's of these companies don't give a rats @!# about you and your struggles to make it from pay to pay as long as they are getting their huge pay cheques, and or severance packages when they leave.
They are happier than pigs in @#!@ because they know we wont do anything about it.
Isn't it nice to be Canadian.
Why not let your member of Parliament know how you feel, or do nothing as we Canadians do so well......
